Prado de Lana means Meadow of Wool. We are the Barcenas family: Amanda, Alberto, Sam and Noelia. Agriculture and sustainable living have always been at the front of what we do, and every skein with our name on it started as grass in a Southern Berkshire pasture.

Wool that tastes of its breed: Romney's bounce, Lincoln's lustre, CVM's natural colour. Never anonymous.

Graze

Grass-fed on lush pastures at Naumkeag, moved with the seasons.

Shear

Once a year, each fleece comes off in one piece on shearing day.

Skirt & sort

Hands pick out the hay and grade every fleece by breed and colour.

Mill

Washed, carded and spun by a small New England mill we trust.

Skein

Twisted, tagged with its town name, and shelved at the station.

Stitch

You cast on. The meadow becomes a sweater.
